Professional Shower Regrouting Brisbane

Shower Sealed provides professional shower regrouting services throughout Brisbane, helping restore the appearance and performance of worn, stained and deteriorated grout. Whether your shower requires localised grout repairs or complete shower regrouting, our experienced team will recommend the most suitable solution for your shower.

Where suitable, we use our premium Ultra Bond Grout as part of our exclusive Ultra Bond Technology (UBT) Shower Sealing System. Designed specifically for wet areas, Ultra Bond Grout provides a durable, water-resistant finish with anti-fungal and mould-resistant properties, making it ideal for Brisbane bathrooms.

Our Brisbane shower regrouting service is commonly carried out in conjunction with shower sealing to help provide longer-lasting protection against moisture penetration. We can regrout shower walls, shower floors, shower hobs, splashbacks and around baths, depending on the condition of the existing shower.

Please note: In some cases, particularly where grout has hardened significantly over time or tiles are small, delicate or unstable, grout removal may not be recommended due to the risk of damaging or lifting the tiles. A thorough onsite inspection allows us to recommend the most appropriate repair solution.

How It Works

Our shower regrouting service replaces damaged, deteriorated, missing or mouldy grout, helping protect showers across Brisbane from moisture penetration without removing tiles. It commonly forms part of our Ultra Bond Technology Shower Sealing System. Please note that discoloured or mouldy grout is not always the cause of a leaking shower. If you require regrouting mainly for cosmetic reasons, please let us know when booking your inspection so we can assess and quote the work accordingly.

Every shower is carefully inspected to identify potential leak sources, including tiles, grout, sealants, junctions, drains and shower screens. We also assess any existing damage or design issues that may influence the most appropriate repair solution.
Once the shower has been confirmed as suitable for our Ultra Bond Technology Shower Sealing System, damaged grout and deteriorated sealants are removed where required before the area is prepared for regrouting and sealing. Depending on the quoted scope of works, loose or cracked tiles may also be repaired or re-glued where appropriate.
The shower is then regrouted and sealed using specialised grouts, sealing products and, where required, protective surface treatments in accordance with the quoted scope of works. As every shower is different, the repair method and products used are tailored to its condition to provide the most effective long-term solution.

Please note: The above process refers to our Ultra Bond shower sealing system only. Where a shower has excessive damage, loose or cracked tiles, or underlying structural issues, we may recommend alternative solutions such as waterproofing and tiling works, or full shower renovation services.

Why Brisbane Showers Need Regrouting

Brisbane’s warm, humid climate can create conditions that accelerate the deterioration of shower grout. Daily exposure to moisture, steam, cleaning products, and temperature fluctuations can gradually cause grout to crack, become discoloured, develop mould, or break down over time.

Many older Brisbane homes were constructed using traditional cement-based grouts, which can become brittle as they age. Once grout begins deteriorating, it may become loose, powdery, cracked, or allow increased moisture penetration through the tiled surface. While grout is not designed to waterproof a shower, maintaining grout in good condition plays an important role in preserving both the appearance and overall condition of the shower.

For property owners and property managers throughout Brisbane, shower regrouting can often provide a cost-effective way to revitalise a tired shower without the expense of replacing tiles or undertaking a full bathroom renovation.

Shower Regrouting FAQs - Brisbane

Our combined regrouting and shower sealing service typically takes between 2.5 and 5 hours, depending on the size of the shower, the condition of the existing grout, and the extent of work required. In most cases, the shower is ready to use again within 24 to 48 hours.

Deteriorated grout can contribute to water penetration through the tiled surface, and regrouting often forms an important part of our shower sealing process. However, every shower is different. As part of our free onsite inspection, we assess the condition of the shower and recommend the most suitable repair solution.

Yes. Shower regrouting involves removing deteriorated grout and replacing it with new grout while leaving the existing tiles in place. In most cases, tiles do not need to be removed to complete the regrouting process.

There is no fixed timeframe, as every shower experiences different levels of use and moisture exposure. Brisbane’s warm and humid climate can accelerate grout deterioration, particularly in frequently used showers with limited ventilation. As a general guide, showers should be inspected every 2 to 3 years. If grout is cracked, mouldy, missing, discoloured, or showing signs of deterioration, it may be time to consider regrouting.

In many cases, yes. Replacing cracked, mouldy, stained, or deteriorated grout can dramatically improve the appearance of a tired shower. Combined with renewed sealants and other maintenance works where required, regrouting can often help revitalise the overall appearance of the shower without the need to replace tiles.
Common signs include cracked grout, missing grout, mould that continues to return after cleaning, discoloured grout, loose or powdery grout, and visible deterioration between the tiles. If you are unsure, our team can assess the condition of the shower during a free onsite inspection.
Over time, grout can crack due to normal building movement, age, moisture exposure, cleaning chemicals, and everyday wear and tear. In Brisbane’s warm and humid climate, grout may also deteriorate more quickly, particularly in older showers where the grout has reached the end of its service life.

Mould-resistant grout can help slow mould growth and make ongoing maintenance easier. At Shower Sealed, we use Ultra Bond Grout, which incorporates anti-fungal and mould-resistant properties specifically designed for wet shower environments. However, ventilation, cleaning habits, and overall bathroom conditions still play an important role in long-term mould control.
