Ultra Bond Technology Shower Sealing System

Seals up to 95% of leaking showers without removing tiles.

Our exclusive Ultra Bond Technology Shower Sealing System uses a combination of specialised products, tools, and proven methods designed to target and help stop potential leakage points throughout the shower.

Unlike traditional waterproofing systems installed beneath the tiles, the Ultra Bond Technology Shower Sealing System focuses on helping prevent water from penetrating below the tiled surface in the first place, ensuring water is directed safely to the drain, as the shower was originally designed.

From our experience, one of the most common causes of leaking showers is building movement. That’s why our system is designed to work with normal levels of movement, using materials and methods that help maintain a long-lasting seal over time.

* Note the above listed images are from showers that have had complete shower sealing and regrouting services.

* We offer warranties of up to 7 years, depending on the style, size, condition or service.

How It Works

Where suitable, following our thorough on-site inspection, our exclusive Ultra Bond Technology Shower Sealing System targets and seals surface leaks at their source without removing tiles.
We conduct a thorough on-site assessment to locate all potential leak sources, including tiles, grout, seals, junctions, drains, and screens. We also try to identify possible issues in relation to pre-existing damage or design issues that could affect works required.
Where a shower is determined to be suitable for our Ultra Bond Technology Shower Sealing System, damaged grout and deteriorated sealants are carefully removed from between the tiles, as required and in accordance with the quoted scope of works, before the area is prepared for regrouting and sealing. Where possible & part of work scopes, cracked or loose tiles may also be repaired or re-glued as part of this process.
Depending on the quoted scope of works, part or all of the shower is regrouted and sealed using specialised grouts, sealing products and, where applicable, protective surface treatments designed to help prevent moisture penetration. As every shower is unique, the work required and products used will vary depending on its condition.

Please note: The above process refers to our Ultra Bond shower sealing system only. Where a shower has excessive damage, loose or cracked tiles, or underlying structural issues, we may recommend alternative solutions such as waterproofing and tiling works, or full shower renovation services.

Ultra Bond Shower Sealing FAQs

The Ultra Bond Technology Shower Sealing System is our professional shower sealing solution that uses a combination of specialised tools, products, and proven procedures designed to identify and target likely leakage points within the shower recess.

Where suitable, the aim of Ultra Bond shower sealing is to seal the surface of the shower so water cannot penetrate beneath the tiles and reach an already failed waterproofing membrane. This helps stop ongoing leakage and reduce the risk of further damage to surrounding areas.

What sets Ultra Bond apart from basic or general sealing is not just the products used, but the entire process, including the inspection, diagnosis, and application. Professional shower sealing is not simply about applying sealants; it requires a clear understanding of how and why the shower is leaking, and whether it is suitable for sealing in the first place.

At Shower Sealed, we have been operating for over 18 years, with more than 50 years of combined experience between the owners and well over 100 years of experience across our team. Over this time, we have built a strong track record in shower sealing and leaking shower repairs throughout Brisbane, the Gold Coast, and the Tweed Coast.

We are proud to be a preferred supplier to many parts of the industry, including real estates, property managers, and the accommodation sector.

We generally classify “basic sealing” as a do-it-yourself approach, or services that rely on over-the-counter products such as standard silicone or grout. While these products may offer a temporary improvement in certain situations, our experience shows they rarely fix a leaking shower for any length of time, if at all.

Ultra Bond Shower Sealing, on the other hand, is designed to address the actual cause of water entry within the shower recess, not just the visible surface gaps.

Even skilled DIYers can unintentionally use products that are not suited to their specific shower issue. We regularly attend properties where previous sealing attempts have resulted in chipped or cracked tiles, or other avoidable damage during grout or sealant removal.

In all honesty, we do not generally recommend a DIY approach for leaking shower repairs. One of the most critical steps is correctly identifying the cause of the leak, determining whether the shower is suitable for sealing, and understanding any associated risks before any work begins.

This is where Ultra Bond Shower Sealing is most effective, in situations where the shower is suitable for sealing and the leak can be addressed without removing tiles.

That’s why we offer a free on-site inspection. This allows us to assess the condition of your shower, identify the likely cause of the leak, and provide suitable solution options, whether that be Ultra Bond Shower Sealing, further shower repairs, or more extensive works if required, so you can make a fully informed decision.

This is an important question. The first point to understand is that not all showers can or should be sealed. That is where the inspection stage is critical.

Where Ultra Bond Shower Sealing is appropriate, the general answer is yes, it is designed to stop ongoing or recurring leaks by sealing the shower surface and helping prevent water from penetrating beneath the tiles and reaching an already failed waterproofing membrane below.

No matter how different companies market their systems, products, or procedures, the basic goal of shower sealing for leaking shower repairs is much the same. Where suitable, the aim is to stop water from getting beneath the tiles and causing continued leakage to surrounding areas.

This is why the inspection process is so important. When assessing a shower for Ultra Bond Shower Sealing, we are looking at the overall condition of the shower and identifying anything that may affect the success of the repair.

As a general rule, we are checking for issues that may cause continued movement or ongoing failure, such as:

  • loose or cracked tiles
  • damage behind or beneath the shower
  • excessive building movement
  • design issues that allow water to escape

In simple terms, the more solid and stable the shower, the more successful Ultra Bond Shower Sealing will be in stopping recurring leaks.

The lifespan of Ultra Bond Shower Sealing depends on the condition of the shower, the type of work required, the size of the shower area, and any underlying risks identified during the inspection.

Based on our on-site inspection, we provide recommendations for the most suitable works, along with applicable warranty periods. These warranties can be up to 7 years, depending on the type of shower, the size of the area, the service being performed, and the level of underlying risk.

As a general rule, the more solid and stable the shower structure, the longer Ultra Bond Shower Sealing is likely to last.

Our aim is to provide clear, upfront information so you can make an informed decision based on the condition of your shower and the most suitable leaking shower repair options available.

Prices and warranty periods will depend on the size and condition of the shower. We offer a free on-site inspection and quote on all showers.

If the shower is too deteriorated or unsuitable for sealing, we may recommend alternative solutions such as shower repairs, waterproofing, tiling works, or full shower renovation services.

Yes, in many cases a leaking shower can be repaired without removing tiles, depending on the condition of the shower and the cause of the leak.

Where the tiles are still well bonded and there are no major structural issues, Ultra Bond Shower Sealing can be used to help fix leaking showers without removing tiles.

Our professional Ultra Bond Shower Sealing process works by sealing the shower surface to help prevent water from penetrating beneath the tiles and reaching an already failed waterproofing membrane below. By stopping water from getting under the tiles, this can help stop ongoing leakage and reduce the risk of further damage to surrounding areas.

As with all leaking shower repairs, the key factor is whether the shower is suitable for sealing. This is why a proper inspection is always required before confirming if Ultra Bond Shower Sealing is the right solution.

If we determine that the shower is suitable for Ultra Bond Shower Sealing, the work can generally be completed within approximately 2.5 to 5 hours.

The exact timeframe will depend on the size and condition of the shower, as well as the type of works required as part of the leaking shower repair process.

Many homeowners or tenants first suspect a leaking shower when they begin noticing changes around the bathroom or in nearby areas.

Common signs of a leaking shower outside the shower area include:

  • dark or damp grout lines inside the shower
  • water stains on skirting boards or door frames
  • water stains or swelling to adjoining vanities
  • wet carpet or flooring outside the bathroom
  • stains appearing on the ceiling below the bathroom
  • a damp or musty smell around the bathroom area
  • water appearing on the floor outside or adjoining the shower

Within the shower itself, homeowners may also suspect there is an issue when they notice one or more of the following:

  • mouldy or lifting sealants
  • gaps within floor and wall junctions, or wall-to-wall junctions
  • deteriorated, cracked, or missing grout anywhere in the shower
  • hollow sounding tiles when tapped
  • floor tiles that feel like they move or “squelch” under pressure
  • cracked tiles
  • gaps around the drain
  • water escaping from the frame of the shower screen
  • water pooling in the shower and not draining away properly

These are all common signs that a shower may require attention, and in many cases may indicate the need for Ultra Bond Shower Sealing or other leaking shower repair solutions.

However, while these signs indicate that moisture may be escaping the shower area, they do not identify the exact cause of the problem. A proper inspection is required to determine whether the issue is related to plumbing, waterproofing failure beneath the tiles, or water bypassing the shower area altogether.

Yes, where applied early enough, Ultra Bond Shower Sealing can act as a preventative repair by helping stop water from penetrating beneath the tiles and causing further damage.

That said, in reality, we are usually called in once the owner or client has already noticed warning signs or suspects something is wrong with the shower.

For that reason, we would generally class Ultra Bond Shower Sealing as both a leaking shower repair solution and a preventative measure, depending on when the issue is identified.

Yes, absolutely. Where applicable, repairing a leaking shower early with Ultra Bond Shower Sealing can save thousands of dollars compared with more extensive works such as shower waterproofing, tiling, shower renovations, or full bathroom renovations.

With an average price range of $495 to $995, Ultra Bond Shower Sealing is often a fraction of the cost of major leaking shower repairs, provided the shower is suitable for sealing.

As a general rule, the earlier a leaking shower is identified and repaired, the lower the risk of ongoing damage to surrounding areas, which can significantly reduce long-term repair costs.
